Cititel Express Kuala Lumpur from RM68 nett per night
Monday, 18 December 2006
Fancy no-frills hotel stay in the heart of Kuala Lumpur from RM68 (or less than USD20) nett per night? You might want to try out the new Cititel Express at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. Cititel Express is a member of the CHM group and a 2nd brand of the Cititel Hotel.
It is strategically located on the fringes of the golden triangle of Kuala Lumpur City Centre, along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman (this street was affectionately known as Batu Road) famed for its cobbled side streets of “Little India” hawking colourful silk saris, ornaments, masses of carpets, textiles, centuries old kopi tiam (coffee shops) and varieties of local hawker fares. A short distance away is Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and some of the main tourist belts.
I should know because my office is located along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman! Of course, this road is quite busy during the day but it has character! For one, I think there is no other place in Kuala Lumpur which has as many textile shops available - from the simple batik print to expensive Giorgio Armani fabric. It is truly a shoppers' haven here. And there are many restaurants selling the famed Nasi Kandar from Penang.
The rooms come with individually controlled air-conditioning, hair-dryer, television, broadband connectivity (in case you want to surf or email home) and in-room locker. This hotel will be ideal for those on a budget but looking for a clean and neat hotel managed by a reputable company with a good location especially for window-shopping.
